A Perfect Day on Lake Chatuge: Brasstown Manor’s Annual Pontoon Boat Ride

“In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.” – Abraham Lincoln

At Brasstown Manor, some traditions are simply too special to miss. Our annual pontoon boat ride is one of those cherished moments. Last week, our residents set out for a relaxing afternoon on Lake Chatuge, surrounded by the rolling Blue Ridge Mountains and bright autumn skies.

The weather was absolutely perfect. It felt like something out of a Goldilocks story: not too hot, not too cold, but just right. Sunshine sparkled on the water as our residents laughed, chatted, and soaked in the breathtaking views. Lake Chatuge, with its calm waters and tree-lined shores, created the perfect setting for memories that will last a lifetime.

Days like this remind us how important it is to stay active and engaged. Gentle movement outdoors, whether it is walking, gardening, or a scenic boat ride, does more than keep the body healthy. It lifts the spirit, sharpens the mind, and strengthens connections with friends. Sharing joy and conversation with others in such a beautiful setting makes these moments even more meaningful.

As the pontoon glided across the lake, the smiles on our residents’ faces reflected the warmth of the sun. It was more than just a ride on the water. It was a celebration of community, of treasured traditions, and of living fully in the moment.

At Brasstown Manor, we believe every season offers the chance to make special memories. Our time on Lake Chatuge was a perfect example, a golden afternoon that we will carry in our hearts until we return next year.
